Castel d'Aiano
Walk to discover Labante accompanied by an archaeologist to learn about the history of the area and concert at the Labante waterfalls by the Coro delle Mondine di Novi di Modena choir.
Length: 3.5 km
- Height difference: +/- 150m
Description: Archeotrekking starting from the spectacular Labante waterfalls, exploited since Etruscan times as a quarry for travertine. This important stone was widely used in the nearby Etruscan city of Kainua (Marzabotto) and was probably transported along the Aneva stream to the Reno river. Our route will take us right along the Aneva stream, where we will immerse ourselves in an unspoilt natural environment, linked not only to ancient history, but also to more recent history, due to the milling activity. The presence of water has always been a fundamental resource for local communities, contributing to the development of water mills along its course. We will pass by the Molino di Santo Stefano and the Molino di Corba, both set in fascinating scenery where time seems to have stood still. To walk along the stream is to immerse oneself in an ancient atmosphere, between the sound of flowing water and the traces left by centuries of human activity.
Approximate time choir concert 18.00
