Monte San Pietro

Characterized by a vast territory that develops around the medium-high basin of the Lavino stream, it is an ideal destination for an excursion with a view of fascinating panoramas that can be admired with relative ease. The village of Calderino and its many small hamlets, set among woods and gullies, contain interesting historical buildings and unique examples of mountain architecture.

Among these is the ancient church of Amola, mentioned as early as 1300, which houses the "Via Crucis" by Mauro Gandolfi, painted in 1792 and consisting of 14 paintings. Also of interest is a visit to the Abbey of SS. Fabiano and Sebastiano (locality La Badia), a fascinating Medieval complex.
