Gaggio Montano

Its symbol is the lighthouse built on the Sasso di Rocca, a war memorial dedicated to the fallen of the two World Wars; from its viewpoint, you can enjoy one of the most enchanting views of the Bolognese Apennines.

A visit to the old part of the village, which is perched around the majestic rock, is particularly suggestive, with its narrow streets and ancient buildings, such as Casa Tanari and Palazzo Pasi. Also worth noting is the elegant arch on the gateway to the "Sasso di Rocca" (block of rock) and an ancient village that has remained intact over time.

In the surrounding area, you can visit the church of Rocca Pitigliana, dedicated to Saint Michael the Archangel, which has been documented since 1235, and the tower house of Montefrasco (15th-16th centuries).
