Alto Reno Terme

It is a municipality in the Bolognese Apennines, on the border with the Province of Pistoia. It includes the territories of Porretta Terme and Granaglione. The town of Porretta is a well-known spa and holiday resort, renowned for its sulphurous and salsobromoiodic thermal waters already known in Roman times. And home to the Porretta Soul Festival, the most prestigious European event dedicated entirely to soul and rhythm & blues music.

In the town, it is worth visiting the 19th-century Church of the Immaculate Conception, also known as the Church "of the Friars", which houses one of the most famous mechanical nativity scenes in existence. Nearby, the medieval village of Castelluccio is worth a visit, from which you can enjoy a beautiful panorama.

Granaglione, on the other hand, is a mountain centre that is composed of ten villages set in a semicircle. Nearby, it is possible to visit Casa Calistri and Lustrola with its stone-built houses.
