A walk through the ancient village of Tavernola to mark the commemoration of the South African war dead on Mount Stanco. At the monument, there will be an aperitif and a concert by the G. Verdi brass band from Riola, hosted by the municipality of Grizzana Morandi at 5.30 pm.
A short circular walk starting from the Monument to the South African War Dead at the Forlino crossroads. The route will begin on the western ridge of the Farnedola stream valley, offering views of part of the Setta river valley as well. It will continue with a brief visit to the picturesque hamlet of Tavernola. On returning to the War Memorial, wreaths will be laid by representatives of the Municipality of Grizzana Morandi, followed by a concert by the Giuseppe Verdi Band of Riola. This will be followed by refreshments at the community centre, organised by the Proloco Amici di Stanco.

Recommended kit:
° Mountain footwear: hiking boots (no trainers).
° Comfortable, layered clothing.
° Windcheater or rain jacket.
° Sun hat and sun cream.
° Lightweight rucksack, water (at least 1 litre per person).
