Monterenzio

A town in the Apennines to the south-east of Bologna, it covers a vast area between the Idice and Sillaro valleys. The site of an ancient and important castle, it preserves numerous testimonies of the Middle Ages, such as the beautiful Palazzo Frontini.

In the town centre, there is the "Luigi Fantini" Civic Museum (Museo Civico "Luigi Fantini"), where you can admire one of the most important collections of Celtic materials in Italy, complemented by the reconstruction of the wooden floor of an ancient house furnished with authentic objects and reproductions.

Nearby, you can visit the Monte Bibele archaeological site, with the remains of an ancient Etruscan-Celtic village
